My Faith Journey by Ann TubBy

Ann TubbyI come from a Christian family background. I rather think my father, his twin brother and their mother would have attended the Methodist Church from about 1916-17. He continued to worship there until he died in 1991.

I went to Sunday School at All Saints’ Church in Stibbard until we started Sunday School at the Chapel. We enjoyed many happy hours, Sunday School Anniversaries, Harvest Festivals, Harvest suppers and various fund-raising events.

I moved away in 1969. Sadly, my mother died in 1970. This was a low time in my life, but my faith was my stay.

Eventually I came back to Norfolk and the little Church in Stibbard. For the last 17 years I have worked in ‘The Chocolate Shop’ in Norwich. I have met some sad, some happy and some very interesting people. I hope each day to pass on a word of comfort or a helping hand and share my faith.

One of my favourite hymns is:

Breathe on me, Breath of God,
                        Fill me with life anew.

To be able to share my Church life and faith with my husband, Nelson, is part of my prayer of thankfulness.
