Not a spare seat could be found at the Stibbard Methodist Church Centre on Sunday 12th February for an inspiring act of worship during which Malcolm Cook was commissioned by both Stibbard and Great Ryburgh Methodist Churches to serve as a Lay Pastoral worker. The worship was led by the minister of the church, the Reverend Andrew King, who spoke in his message on the theme “the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” (Matthew 9 verse 37).

It is a joy and a privilege to be a minister within the Methodist Church. I first felt the call in 1999 when I was fully accredited as a Local Preacher and, after much reflection, in 2001 I gave up my job as an Education Welfare Officer in Luton to be a full time Lay Worker for that Circuit.
